Named after Queen Elizabeth II of England, Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda's most popular national park.

Founded in 1952 as Kazinga national park, it was renamed in 1954 to commemorate a visit by the new Queen. The diverse ecosystems of the park include vast savannah, shady and humid forests, wetlands, lakes and craters.

These ecosystems make it an ideal home for many species of animals, birds, primates and lots of interesting scenery.
